Essential PC / Laptop security for all student’s in halls

Posted on 10 October 2011, submitted by Rob Howe

NAC (Network Access Control) Clinics PC’s/Laptops in student halls are required to meet the University’s security requirements before network access is allowed. This is to ensure your machine is both safe and up to date with regards to patches and anti-virus software (a copy of which can be downloaded free of charge).

PC’s/laptops will automatically be taken through the NAC process when first connected in all student halls – please ensure guidelines are followed to install any required security and/or anti-virus updates. If there are any difficulties or issues getting through the NAC process, please try to attend one of the NAC clinics listed below, where staff will be happy to help. NAC clinics are being run at both Park Campus (Grendon G159) and Avenue Campus (Maidwell MB9) on the following days: Monday 10 October 6-9pm, Tuesday 11 October 6-9pm.
