Social enterprise opportunity in Kenya for final year students and recent graduates

Posted on 26 June 2012

The University of Northampton is recruiting final year students or recent graduates for a unique experience working with a social enterprise in Kenya for six weeks in Sep/Oct 2012.

Balloon Kenya is an award-winning social enterprise striving to defeat poverty through entrepreneurship. It teams young people from the UK with ambitious Kenyan youth groups. They work together to launch sustainable new businesses that tackle local problems and provide employment.

The successful recruits will complete an intensive two week entrepreneurship and social innovation programme in Kenya. They then spend six weeks collaborating with groups of young Kenyans to devise, develop and launch new businesses that improve community wellbeing.

This is a remarkable opportunity for anyone wanting to develop outstanding business skills, international development experience and be part of a life-changing challenge.

Funding is available to cover most of the costs of the trip, including travel and accommodation.

To register an interest in applying please contact Wray Irwin wray.irwin@youngfoundation.org, Social Entrepreneur in Residence.
